Dates are an outstanding source of energy and yet have fewer calories than most dried fruits. Fresh dates have fewer calories than dried dates. Turmeric:




Turmeric or haldi is a rhizome and is either consumed fresh or in powdered form. Most Indian curries, dals and vegetables will have turmeric powder added to it. It not only gives a good colour but also gives the dish a distinct taste, besides having medicinal properties.

It has been used in Ayurveda medicine since more than 4000 years. The active ingredient in turmeric is curcumin. It is a natural antioxidant and helps the body to get rid of oxidative stress. It also helps in regeneration of new cells in the body.
  
Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties. It could help in reducing the swelling and pain in patients with osteoarthritis.

Ayurveda has been using turmeric to treat mild skin diseases.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF COW'S MILK


Cow’s milk has very high calcium content.

HOME REMEDIES FOR ACIDITY


Acidity is often considered a very slight discomfort. If you suffer from it often too, there is no need to go pill popping. Here are some simple home remedies to help you:
  • 1.It is a common misconception to drink aerated drinks or soda to cure acidity. If you must, drink about 20 ml of Limca or any other lemon based drink with half a lemon squeezed into it. Otherwise, opt for chamomile or any other herbal tea instead.

  • 2.A green tender coconut is a great remedy for acidity. Drink the water from this coconut to soothe acid reflux and regurgitation. Drink it slowly though, because it has a lot of fat. If you gulp it, it could induce nausea.

  • 3.A glass of cold milk is one of the oldest home remedies for acidity and gas. If you can, try to drink low fat or double toned milk instead of full cream variety.

  • 4.Take about 6 to 7 mint leaves and steep them in a glass of water for at least 5 minutes. Keep a lid on the saucepan and let the solution rest for about 15 minutes. Sieve it into a glass and throw the blanched leaves away. Drink this liquid while it is lukewarm after your meal. This will not only help get rid of acidity, but will also keep it at bay.

  • 5.If you have very severe acidity, suck on a piece of clove for some time. The oils in clove soothe the acids and gastric juices. If you do not get immediate effect, chew on a few pieces of clove instead.

  • 6.For instant relief from acidity, you may suck on a piece of lemon. Of you do not like the taste of lemon and do not want to suck on it directly, squeeze a lemon in a glass of cold water. Add some salt and sugar to it and drink it.

  • 7.A piece of jaggery is considered an excellent home remedy for acidity. You could suck on a piece for some time to improve your symptoms. If the acidity still prevails, eat a bowl of unflavored yogurt. This is also known to give relief from acidity.

  • 8.Banana and almonds are often suggested as remedies for acidity. So if you have it frequently, bananas a day can help keep it at bay.

  • 9.When you have acidity, avoid consumption of alcohol and smoking. Alcohol and tobacco both worsen acidity, so try and cut down as much as you can.

  • 10.The symptoms of acidity and heartburn can be effectively reduced by chewing gum. A mint flavor chewing gum will be better but you could choose a sugarless gum too. The saliva produced by chewing gum can help move the food through the alimentary canal, therefore reducing the heartburn. If you do not have gum readily available, you could chew on a few mint leaves.

Massaging warm oil on to the scalp is a very popular medication in India. You can use coconut or olive oil for best results. 

Leaving this for an hour and following this procedure with the application of limejuice mixed with some vinegar can help you get rid of dandruff. 

4.Olive oil treatment 

Apply 4 tbsp of olive oil to hair. Massage oil into scalp and hair. Leave on for 30 minutes and then rinse thoroughly. 

For best results, leave olive oil in hair overnight for additional conditioning. Olive oil will strengthen hair and prevent breakage. 

5.Mixture of amla powder and lime juice 

Mixture of amla powder and lemon juice can be applied to the hair to help it grow stronger and have a fuller appearance. 

Combine 1 tbsp. amla powder with the juice of one lemon in a small container and shake to dissolve the powder. 

Gently massage the mixture onto the roots of the hair and scalp and leave it on for 20 minutes before rinsing and shampooing. 

6.Strawberries for luscious hair 

Mash eight strawberries with one tablespoon mayonnaise. Massage into washed hair. Cover with a shower cap, then a warm towel. 

Wash out with a shampoo and conditioner combination. 

This luscious mix of rich berries will leave your hair both conditioned and with rich gloss. 

7.Fenugreek seeds 

Soak two tablespoons of fenugreek seeds overnight. Then ground the seeds into a fine paste in the morning and apply over the scalp. Leave it for 30 minutes and then wash thoroughly. 

This is a highly effective remedy to remove dandruff. 

8.Good diet and exercise 

You are what you eat even with reference to the health of your hair. Consuming fruits and dark green leafy vegetables and the right amount of proteins like nuts, cereals are the key to ensuring the good condition of your hair. 

Along with ample amount of water and little exercise will make your hair healthy and soft. The more you exercise, the better your body's blood circulation will be - which means that your hair will grow stronger, faster and healthier. 

NATURAL TIPS FOR HAIR LOSS

1.Hot oil treatments

Take any natural oil - olive, coconut, canola - and heat it up so that it is warm, but not too hot. Massage it gently into your scalp. Put on a shower cap and leave it on for an hour, then shampoo your hair.
