HEALTH BENEFITS OF COW'S MILK


Cow’s milk has very high calcium content. 
Calcium is essential in the body for development of bones, teeth and muscles. In our body, calcium reacts with phosphorus to form a compound known as calcium phosphate. This compound provides both strength and structure to the bones.
Calcium present in cow’s milk is also vital in protecting the body from cancer. The cells in the colon are especially strengthened by cow milk, protecting them from chemicals that may eventually cause cancer.
Cow milk prevents headaches and migraines. Its properties have also found to be beneficial in the reduction of symptoms of PMS.
Calcium helps improve metabolism and is especially required by growing children. In children, calcium from cow’s milk has been found to prevent childhood obesity.  It has been found that calcium obtained by the body from milk helps in oxidation of body fat, therefore decrease the secretion of parathyroid hormone which is responsible for obesity.
Studies on cow’s milk have also shown it to be preventive against breast cancer. Drinking milk regularly can improve blood clotting, preventing hemorrhages, and improving functions of the cell membranes.
Cow’s milk has been found to be extremely useful in the treatment of gout – a debilitating type of arthritis. In addition, it also contains Vitamins B2 and B12, both of which are extremely important for maintaining health of the joints and the nerves. These nutrients are also important for the healthy functioning of the cardiovascular system of the body.
Apart from its other nutrients, cow’s milk is also rich in high quality, bioavailable iodine which is vital for the health of the thyroid gland. A deficiency of iodine can lead to a dangerous disease known as goiter.
The epithelial cells and muscle tissues also benefit a lot from cow’s milk. The milk contains vitamin A, which helps in growth and development of organs and individual tissues. The nutrient is also vital in boosting immunity and protects the body against toxins and infections in the environment.
With so many benefits from just one single source of food, it is inevitable to consider cow’s milk a gift from Mother Nature.
